It depends on who is asking for the score, not on which test is easier. Universities, immigration departments and healthcare councils each publish their own accepted list — UK visa routes need an approved SELT, Canadian immigration accepts CELPIP and PTE Core, Australian points claims accept NAATI CCL. Send the requirement page from your university, employer or council and you will get a direct recommendation.
Honestly, it depends where you start. Half a band usually takes a few weeks of focused work; a full band or more takes longer, particularly in Writing. After your free assessment you get a realistic number of weeks rather than a comfortable one.
